Our approach to wellbeing and learning support is founded on the belief that all students have the right to an education which challenges them and allows them to make meaningful progress.

Wellbeing at DCC is underpinned by biblical truths, specifically that each person is created in the image of God. We seek to empower students to realise their God-given purpose and identity, and support them to develop positive relationships, resilience, and growth in mindset. It is our deep hope that members of our community will use their gifts and abilities to meaningfully impact the classroom, school and world around them.

We aim to do this by:

  • Building a shared language
  • Building personal skills
  • Partnering with Parents
  • Developing programs and resources appropriate for all ages and stages of childhood development

Elements of the Wellbeing Framework

The Wellbeing Framework encompasses targeted programs and focal areas across Primary and Secondary School curriculum, peer support programs, classes and homegroups. All are underpinned by Biblical Foundations and include character formation (identity and purpose), healthy relationships (problem solving and restoring relationships), building capacity (resilience, gratitude, positive self-talk) and habits and goals (growth mindset, physical health and spiritual disciplines).
