Welcome to Year 9
Year 9 is a transitional year that requires the student's focus to shift from an introspective view of the world to an outward community focus. Placing an emphasis on their ‘Journey to Maturity’, we aim to support students to grow in their academic, spiritual and personal learning. Following the outline of the ‘Biblical narrative’ we explore the ‘marvel and mystery of creation’, the ‘brokenness of the fall’, ‘God's restorative work’ and ‘our role in His plans for the future’. Whether it be in the classroom or the Bogong High Plains, our Year 9 students will be well equipped to face the challenges set before them in their senior years. A purpose built learning centre with an environmental focus is the setting for the dedicated team of Year 9 teachers to facilitate and mentor each student in their learning. Strong friendships and personal responsibility are valued as we develop an understanding of what it means to ‘Live in Community’.

Forms & Letters to Parents
These have either been posted or emailed home to you, but in the possibility that they went missing in action, please download them below. Most forms need to be returned to Year 9 Administration unless otherwise specified on the document.
In Year 9 we have a number of integrated experiences designed to enhance students' learning, tightly linked to the curriculum. These experiences give students opportunities to interact with each other and work in teams outside of the school environment. They learn new skills and take home great memories! The integrated experiences planned for this year are:
- Wilderness Experience (Term 1)
- City Experience (Term 2)
- Community Service Experience (Term 3)
- Stewardship Experience (Term 4)
2017 Book orders - to be updated in Term 4
The booklists for all year levels and order forms can be found on the Secondary Booklist page.
We offer books through two possible suppliers - Campion and OzTextbooks. For math subjects, there is also the option to buy your calculator as part of a bulk purchase through the college, at a lower cost. Calculators purchased this way can be picked up from the college. The Friends of Donvale (FOD) parent group also manage and offer second-hand books for sale.
