Welcome to Year 8
Year 8 is a learning adventure where our students build on the understandings and concepts established in Year 7. A thematic focus on looking and thinking ‘Beyond Ourselves’ encourages Year 8 students to have confidence in themselves and to discern opportunities to serve their peers and others in the school community. We are excited by the variety of learning opportunities at this year level – everything from forestry and fires in Geography to ‘Nights with Notables’ and medieval feasts. Year 8 is a colourful and friendly year with many opportunities for creativity and academic challenge.

Forms & Letters to Parents
These have been posted or emailed home to you, but in the possibility that they went missing in action, please download them below. Most forms need to be returned to Secondary Administration if not otherwise specified on the document.
Excursion and Camps
In Year 8 we have a number of excursions designed to enhance students' learning, tightly linked to the curriculum. Camps give students opportunities to interact with each other and work in teams outside of the school environment.
2017 Book orders - to be updated in Term 4
The booklists for all year levels and order forms can be found on the Secondary Booklist page.
We offer books through two possible suppliers - Campion and OzTextbooks. For math subjects, there is also the option to buy your calculator as part of a bulk purchase through the college, at a lower cost. Calculators purchased this way can be picked up from the college. The Friends of Donvale (FOD) parent group also manage and offer second-hand books for sale.
