Donvale Christian College’s secondary school is a very caring environment with a strong sense of excitement as the place to be!
Students are invited to take part in a wide range of learning activities and opportunities. It is our hope that through these learning experiences each student will reach their full God given potential. As they move through the secondary years, they are challenged and stretched, they experience frustration and celebrate success and they discover something more about God’s creation as they mature into young adults.
DCC’s curriculum is framed with Christian perspectives, infused with Information and Communication Technologies and focused on developing the ‘thinker’ in each child. It is broad with an interesting range of subjects and enrichment activities offered. The elective program in Year 9 to 12 is very comprehensive with the opportunity for extension and acceleration in a number of subjects. Students are introduced to their notebook computers at Year 7. This is a very exciting transition experience. Year 7 teachers conduct an intensive induction program and the curriculum is delivered using the technology in an integrated manner.
Extra curricular offerings are extensive and exciting for all participants. Camps, outdoor education, musicals, orchestras, ensembles, choirs, drama, sporting competitions, debating, competitions in a range of subject areas, Creative Arts Week, leadership training, work experience, enrichment program are all part of the challenging and creative program.
The teachers are committed Christians and are all involved in pastoral care roles in the DCC community. Students are well supported with caring staff, homegroup teachers, Year Level Coordinators, a college counsellor, careers counsellor, special needs support, peer support and the warmth of a nurturing community.
Our students are encouraged to strive for excellence and to be their personal best for God.
We trust that you will be enriched by your time in the secondary school at Donvale Christian College.
